What are the things to keep in mind before getting bikini wax done first time?
Bikini area is sensitive and if you are going in for your first session, tread carefully! Hygiene is of paramount importance while choosing the salon you visit. The practitioner should wear gloves during the procedure. Also, the knife used to apply the wax should be sterilized and separate wax should be used. An antiseptic lotion or cream is essential and must be applied before and after the session. The person attending to you should also have been specifically trained to perform Bikini waxing and have enough experience in the same. After, considering all of the above, look at the cost to make a final decision. If you follow these few simple rules, the procedure is a simple, quick and efficient way of hair removal.

The first step should always be cleaning the area with a generous dose of antiseptic lotion. The wax should be then applied in the direction of the hair. The best way to avoid infection is to keep hygiene in mind before anything else. Use of antiseptic lotion before and after the session is essential. Before the procedure ensure the practitioner is wearing gloves and is using a separate wax and sterilized knives. Throw away strips should be used instead of the reusable ones. The more hygienic the entire process, lesser the chances of infections will arise.

How to protect your skin during winter

As fall announces its arrivals with that unmistakable nip in the air,Beauty Expert and Founder Director of Alps Cosmetic Clinic,Bharti Taneja, guides you to the best ways to protect and prepare your skin for winter.
Deal with dryness
As the weather changes, the most obvious change that you notice in your skin is ‘dryness’. Soak in a handful of almonds overnight. Peel them and make a fine paste. Mix a few drops of honey and one tea spoon of milk cream with it and gently massage it on your face. Leave for 15 mins and wash it off. This is excellent in combating dryness along with soothing your skin.
Face it with facials
Regular facials are important to keep your skin looking fresh and rejuvenated during this time. Instead of Veg facials, Fruit peels are better for young skins during this season. Whereas a little mature or ageing skin can go for AHA cream facials that help in skin fairness, hydration and reduce the dryness too.
Commit to cleansing
The change in the season also demands for an update in your skincare kit. Replace toner or astringent with cleansing milk. Instead of directly washing your face with water, you can use fresh milk to remove dirt and impurities and then wash off with water.
Moisturize more
Pick any light moisturizer that easily meets your skin’s hydration needs. For mature skin, collagen creams and serums work the best. Apply them before going to bed and it will repair and rejuvenate your skin as you sleep in deep slumber.
Lovely lips
Lips dry out more easily as they retain less moisture than other parts of your body. Take fresh milk cream and add a few drops of honey to it. Apply for 15 minutes and clean it with a tissue paper. Be faithful about using lip balm. If you want to use lipstick, then first apply lip balm and leave it for 10mins. Now remove it and apply the lipstick. It keeps lips hydrated for long hours.
Pretty Hands & Feet
Owing to repeated washing, hands are especially vulnerable to abuse this time of the year. Keep a tube of hand cream on your desk or in your purse and use liberally. Make your own nourishing concoction at home with rose water, glycerine and lemon drops. Apply on your hands and feet religiously.

घरेलू समाधान से कहें स्किन प्रॉब्लम्स को बॉय-बॉय-

घरेलू समाधान- एक टी स्पून कैलेमाइन पाउडर व एक टी स्पून चंदन पाउडर में टमाटर का जूस मिलाकर पेस्ट बनाएं और उसकी लेयर अपने चेहरे पर लगाएं। इस पैक को 15-20 मिनट तक लगाएं रखें और फिर ठंडे पानी से चेहरा धो लें। इस पैक में शामिल कैलेमाइन और चंदन पाउडर पोर्स को बंद करेंगे और टमाटर में मौजूद लाइकोपीन से स्किन टाइट होगी।

ब्लैकहैड्स- जब खुले पोर्स में तेल के साथ मिट्टी मिल जाती है और वो काला सख्त होकर चेहरे, कंधे या पीठ पर नज़र आए तो इस प्रॉब्लम को ब्लैकहैड्स कहते हैं।

घरेलू समाधान- एक टी स्पून मुल्तानी मिट्टी, एक टी स्पून जौ का आटे में थोड़ी सी खस-खस, 4-5 चम्मच कच्चा दूध और ताजी पुदीने की पत्तियों का पेस्ट मिलाकर स्क्रब बना लें। इस पेस्ट को पूरे फेस पर लगाएं और फिर सर्कुलर दिशा में स्क्रब करें। कुछ देर के लिए उसे यूं ही छोड़ दें और फिर पानी से धो दें। इस स्क्रब से स्किन डीप क्लीन होगी साथ ही रोजाना स्क्रब करने से ब्लैकहैड्स जैसी कोई प्रॉब्लम भी नहीं होगी।

एक्ने/पिंपल्स- मुंहासे निकलने के कई कारण होते हैं, जैसे अत्यधिक तैलीय त्वचा, पेट में कब्ज का होना, बालों में डैंड्रफ या फिर हार्मोन्स की गड़बड़ी। इन मुंहासों को घर पर सुखाने के लिए आप ये हीलिंग पैक आज़मा सकती हैं।

घरेलू समाधान- नीम व पुदीने की सूखी पिसी पत्तियों के पाउडर में आधा चम्मच कैलेमाइन पाउडर, चुटकी भर हल्दी और गुलाबजल मिलाकर पेस्ट बनाएं और अपने चेहरे पर लगाएं। इस पैक का रोजाना इस्तेमाल करने से मुंहासे कुछ ही दिनों में सूख जाएंगे। नीम में मौजूद डिसइंफेक्टिंग गुण और पुदीने में शामिल एंटी-बैक्टीरियल गुण स्किन को एक्ने से प्रोटैक्ट करेंगे, हल्दी उन्हें हील करेगी और गुलाब जल से त्वचा पर निखार आएगा।

एक्ने मार्क्स और स्कॉर्स- कई बार मुंहासों को छील देने से त्वचा पर उसके भद्दे निशान पड़ जाते हैं।

घरेलू समाधान- मुंहासों के निशान को हल्का करने के लिए घर पर स्क्रब बना सकती हैं। सूखी नीम की पत्तियां, 5-6 लौंग, एक-एक कटोरी उड़द की धुली दाल, लाल मसूर की दाल, चने की दाल को दरदरा पीस लें फिर उसमें चुटकी भर हल्दी, आधी कटोरी चंदन पाउडर व मुल्तानी मिट्टी को मिक्स कर के पाउडर बना लें। प्रतिदिन एक चम्मच पाउडर में पपीते का गूदा मिलाकर पेस्ट बना लें और अपने चेहरे पर लगाएं। इसे 2-4 मिनट तक चेहरे पर मलें और दस मिनट बाद पानी से धो दें। कच्चे पपीते में पैपीन नामक एंजाइम होता है जो रंग साफ करता है साथ ही दाग-धब्बों को दूर करता है। यदि चेहरे पर मुंहासे हैं तो कोई भी स्क्रब करने से बचें।

पिट्स यानि गड्ढ़े- कभी-कभी मुंहासे त्वचा की गहराई तक हों, तो त्वचा पर पिट्स यानि गड्ढ़े पड़ जाते हैं।

घरेलू समाधान- घरेलू तौर पर आप इन निशानों को हल्का करने के लिए नारियल तेल से मसाज कर सकती हैं या फिर विटामिन ई की कैप्सूल्स को फोड़कर भी लगा सकती हैं। वैसे अगर ये पिट्स काफी सालों से हैं तो इनका घरेलू तौर पर ठीक हो पाना मुश्किल है। इसके लिए आप किसी अच्छे कॉस्मेटिक क्लीनिक से लेज़र ट्रीटमेंट की सिटिंग्स ले सकती हैं।

रिंकल्स- बढ़ती उम्र की ये निशानी आमतौर पर त्वचा रूखी होने के कारण होती है। ऐसे में अपनी त्वचा को इससे बचाएं रखने के लिए उसे पूर्ण पोषण देना जरूरी होता है।

घरेलू समाधान- अवोकेडो, मेल्टेड चॉक्लेट, मिल्क पाउडर, ऑल्मण्ड पाउडर और फ्रेश क्रीम को मिलाकर अपने चेहरे पर लगाएं और हल्का सा सूख जाने पर कुछ देर के लिए स्क्रब करें। 15-20 मिनट फेस को यूं ही छोड़ देने के बाद उसे ठंडे पानी से धो दें। इस पैक में शामिल चीजों से आपकी स्किन को नॉरिशमेंट मिलेगा और वो जवां नज़र आएगी।                                                                                                                      ALSP Beauty Clinic

Summer Special: Basic skincare routine we all must follow!

Morning Care to Infuse Fresh Energy
Cleansing: As the first thing in the morning, wash your face with a mild, soap-free and non-foaming cleanser as foaming ones tend to leave our skin dry. Just take an ounce on your palms and massage your face for few 2-3 minutes. Now, wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.

Exfoliating: A must for removing dead cells and grime - this ritual should be followed daily for few seconds without shying. There are several good exfoliators/scrubbers available in market, you can just get one which suits your skin type. Otherwise, you can also go for a homemade one. Mix equal quantities of kaolin powder, sandalwood powder and add few pinches of and turmeric poppy seeds. Now, dilute this combination with milk (for dry skin), curd (for oily skin) or cucumber juice (for normal skin) and massage your face using it in circular motion. Wash off to reveal a fresh and energised skin.

Toning: Toner is a liquid meant to close the opened pores while cleansing.  Toning makes our skin look firm and lifted. It should be followed after every cleansing ritual. You can also try making a homemade toner. Boil tulsi, neem and mint leaves together in a litre of water and wait till half of it evaporates. Now, store and apply whenever needed
.
Moisturising: The most compulsory of all and should be followed by people of every skin-type. It provides your skin with the softness and suppleness along with the much-needed hydration. For oily skin, use gel-moisturisers, people with normal-skin can go for water-based one; whereas rich moisturisers can be the perfect option for dry skin texture.

Protection: Sun has several adverse effects on our skin like tanning, early signs of ageing and dark spots. Therefore, do not forget to protect your skin from the sun during the day by applying a sunscreen of SPF 30 or more that has UVA, UVB filter and PA+++.

Night Regime to Provide Rich Nourishment
Makeup Removal: You must have been listening to this advice since ages. But, to keep skin problems at a distance and attain forever young looking skin, you must remove all traces of your makeup before you hit the bed. Wipe off your makeup using a cotton ball dipped in cleansing milk or olive oil to remove all the grease, grime and traces of beauty products applied. Follow by washing your face with a mild face wash and toning the skin with a suitable toner.

Night Nourishment: End up with a nourishing night cream according to your skin. Apply a nourishing night cream containing, collagen, retinol or AHA so that your skin replenishes and regenerates itself while you are asleep. Do this along with a soothing under-eye serum and get ready for your nap. This will just act like a mini-daily facial for you!
